Euonymus japonicus 'Paloma Blanca' is a compact evergreen shrub whose new growth opens brilliant white before settling to green.

Each spring the plant flushes with almost pure white shoots. As the leaves age they turn deep green with a bright white margin, so there are two quite different looks on the same shrub for weeks at a time. Growth is dense, bushy and upright, and it takes clipping well enough for a low formal hedge or a shaped plant in a pot.

It grows in full sun, partial shade or full shade, and the source notes it is happy in coastal and urban conditions. Give it well drained soil, water through dry spells in the first season, and expect 60 to 90cm tall and wide in time. Prune in late spring if you want to keep it tight.

Supplied as a well established 7.5 litre root ball, ready to plant straight into a border or a large container. Euonymus is poisonous to cats and dogs.
