Delivery detailsThree white cyclamen planted together in a floral tin trough give you classic autumn and winter colour in one ready-to-display container. The trough has wooden handles and a natural moss top dressing, so it looks finished from the moment it arrives and makes an easy gift.
These are florist's cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum), with clean white flowers held above deep green, heart-shaped leaves marbled with silver. They flower from autumn through to early spring, which makes them one of the best ways to brighten a porch, doorstep or patio when little else is in bloom.
The 3 plants are growing together in the trough and arrive in it, so there is no potting or assembly to do. Stand it in a sheltered spot in partial shade, out of cold wind. Cyclamen are not hardy and a hard or prolonged frost will kill them, so bring the trough under cover if a severe cold spell is forecast. Water sparingly at the edge of the trough rather than over the crowns, and let the compost dry a little between waterings.
Upkeep is light. Pull off faded flowers with their stalks, and remove yellowing leaves at the base to keep the plants flowering. The tubers should not be eaten.
