Cyclamen – White Autumn and Winter Bedding Display (3 Plants in a Traditional Metal Trough)

White cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum) bring elegant autumn and winter colour to a doorstep, patio or balcony. Three plants arrive growing together in a classic traditional metal trough with a moss lining, ready to display with no planting needed.

The heart-shaped, silver-marbled leaves form a neat, compact mound, and the clean white flowers keep coming through the autumn and winter months. It is a seasonal display that makes a thoughtful gift or a festive centrepiece.

Stand the trough in a sheltered spot in partial shade, out of cold wind. Water sparingly at the base of the plants and avoid wetting the crown, which can cause rot. Remove faded flowers and yellowing leaves, with their stalks, to encourage more blooms. Cyclamen persicum is not hardy: it will take a light frost in a sheltered position, but a hard or prolonged frost will kill it, so treat it as one season of colour. The tubers should not be eaten, by people or pets.
