Delivery detailsGrow your own delicious, nutritious broccoli at home with Broccoli 'Tenderette Apollo' (Brassica oleracea Italica Group). It is a reliable, high-performing calabrese-type variety, well regarded for generous, tightly packed, blue-green heads with a sweet, tender flavour. Perfect for gardeners of all levels, it suits a vegetable bed, a raised bed or a larger container.
You receive 12 young plants, growing one to a cell in 2 trays of 6 cells. They arrive ready to plant out, giving you a healthy head start on the growing season, and each plant is easy to lift out and transplant into your garden, raised bed or large container.
Plant into firm, fertile soil in a sunny spot sheltered from strong winds, and firm the soil well around the base of each plant to prevent wind rock. Water regularly, particularly during dry spells, and feed at planting and again as the heads begin to develop. Harvest the central head while it is still tight and compact for the best flavour. Smaller side shoots will then keep developing for a second harvest. Protect young plants from cabbage white butterflies and pigeons where necessary.
