Delivery detailsScindapsus pictus 'Trebie', widely sold as Satin Pothos or Devil's Ivy, is a trailing houseplant grown for its dark green, heart-shaped leaves splashed with silvery-grey variegation.
Left to trail from a shelf or hanging basket, or trained up a moss pole, it produces long stems of patterned foliage. No two leaves are marked quite the same way, which is a feature of the variety rather than a flaw.
It arrives as a rooted young plant in a 12cm pot, ready to position on a bright windowsill, desk or shelf out of direct sun. It is happiest in normal room temperatures and tolerates medium to low light well, so it also suits a shadier corner of a room or office. Water once the top inch of compost has dried out, and repot every year or two into a slightly larger pot of houseplant compost.
Scindapsus is reported by the RHS to be harmful if eaten and to irritate skin and eyes, and the trailing stems hang within easy reach of a curious cat, so site it where pets cannot chew on it.
