Growing your own from plants, not seed

Seed is cheap but slow, and a fair share of it never comes up. Starting from an established young plant skips the riskiest few weeks entirely: no propagator, no thinning out, no wondering whether anything germinated. You get a harvest sooner and far more reliably, which matters most in a British summer.

Our herbs, vegetables, salad and fruit plants are grown at our Yorkshire nursery and never sprayed with harmful chemicals, so what you pick is exactly what you would grow yourself. Most crops want sun, decent compost and steady watering. Feed anything in a pot every couple of weeks once it starts cropping.

Common questions

Are your grow your own plants sprayed with chemicals?
No. Our tomatoes and the whole grow your own range are grown completely free from harmful chemical sprays, so they are ready to pick and eat once cropping.
When can I plant vegetables and herbs outside?
Tender crops like tomatoes go out once the frosts have passed, usually late May. Hardier herbs and salad can go out earlier. Each product page shows the best planting months.
Can I grow these in pots?
Yes. Most herbs, salad leaves and even tomatoes crop happily in containers as long as the pot is big enough, the compost is good and you water and feed regularly.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is free on UK orders over £40, and £3.99 on orders under £40. Order by 2pm Monday to Thursday for next day dispatch.
