One of the most popular and widely recognised chilli varieties in the world, the Jalapeno produces thick-walled, plump green fruits that ripen to a deep red. Known for their medium heat and rich, slightly smoky flavour, Jalapeno peppers are perfect for salsas, nachos, stuffing, pickling and adding a kick to everyday cooking.

Supplied as a well-established plant in a 2 litre root ball, this Jalapeno is ready to be planted out into a sunny, sheltered spot in the garden or into a container on a warm patio or in a greenhouse. With the right care, you can enjoy a generous harvest of fresh chillies from midsummer right through to autumn.

Growing Tips:

• Plant in a warm, sunny and sheltered position for the best crop


• Ideal for growing in containers, grow bags, greenhouses or conservatories


• Water regularly and feed with a high-potash fertiliser once fruits begin to form


• Harvest fruits when green for a milder flavour, or allow them to ripen to red for a sweeter, fuller heat


• Pinch out the growing tip when the plant reaches around 30 cm to encourage bushier growth and a heavier crop
