Tomato 'Bush Steak' (Megabyte) – Bush Beefsteak Tomato (Set of 3 or 6)

Tomato 'Bush Steak', also sold as Megabyte, is a compact beefsteak that gives large, meaty fruit on a plant small enough for a patio pot.

It carries the size and flavour of a traditional beefsteak on a sturdy, bushy plant of only 40 to 70cm with a similar spread. The tomatoes are deep red, dense and juicy, good for slicing, salads and cooking. Because it is a determinate bush there are no side shoots to remove, which makes it a straightforward plant for anyone growing tomatoes for the first time.

Plants are grown in peat free compost at our Yorkshire nursery and arrive with well established rootballs, ready to go into their final pot or bed once all risk of frost has passed. Water evenly rather than in fits and starts, since erratic watering causes blossom end rot and split fruit, and begin a high potassium feed once the first fruits start to swell. The fruit is for eating, but the leaves and stems belong to the same family as potato and are a known risk to pets.
