Delivery detailsSweet William 'Diabunda Purple' (Dianthus barbatus) brings rich purple, sweetly scented flowers to sunny borders, beds and patio containers. It is a classic cottage garden plant in a compact, bushy form.
The Diabunda series is known for its strong, free-flowering habit and a display that runs across spring and autumn, longer than many traditional bedding plants. The narrow, mid-green leaves make a tidy mound, and the flowers attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
You receive 12 plants, growing in 2 plastic 6-cell trays with one plant to a cell. Plant them in full sun in well-drained soil, in a border, a patio container or along a path edge. Sweet William is hardy, so it will sit through a British winter outdoors. Water regularly without letting the roots sit in wet soil, and remove spent blooms to encourage more flowers. The sap can irritate skin, so wear gloves when handling.
