Tomato 'Brandy Boy' – Beefsteak Cordon Tomato (Set of 3 or 6)

Tomato 'Brandy Boy' is a beefsteak variety grown as a cordon, producing large, meaty fruit for slicing and cooking.

Plants climb to around 120 to 200cm with support and spread 50 to 70cm, so they want a stout cane or a string and regular side shooting. The fruits are big, dense and often slightly ribbed or flattened, with the thick flesh that makes a beefsteak worth growing. A greenhouse, a large container or a warm, sheltered bed all suit it.

Plants are grown in peat free compost at our Yorkshire nursery and arrive with well established rootballs, ready to go into their final pot or bed once all risk of frost has passed. Water evenly rather than in fits and starts, since erratic watering causes blossom end rot and split fruit, and begin a high potassium feed once the first fruits start to swell. The fruit is for eating, but the leaves and stems belong to the same family as potato and are a known risk to pets.
