Tomato 'Totem' is a compact bush variety, giving a full crop of flavour rich fruit on a plant that stays neat in a pot.

Plants grow 30 to 60cm tall with a similar spread and hold themselves up without a tall cane. The fruit is bright and uniform, sweet with a balancing acidity, and ripens steadily rather than all at once. Patio pots, containers, hanging baskets, window boxes and raised beds all suit it.

Plants are grown in peat free compost at our Yorkshire nursery and arrive with well established rootballs, ready to go into their final pot or bed once all risk of frost has passed. Water evenly rather than in fits and starts, since erratic watering causes blossom end rot and split fruit, and begin a high potassium feed once the first fruits start to swell. The fruit is for eating, but the leaves and stems belong to the same family as potato and are a known risk to pets.
