Tomato 'Veranda Red' is a dwarf bush variety for small spaces, cropping bright red fruit on a plant that needs no training.
It is a bush type rather than a cordon, so there are no side shoots to remove and no tall cane to put in. The fruit is sweet, juicy and bright red, and the plant stays small enough for a patio, a balcony or a narrow bed by the back door. Plants arrive with an established root system and start into growth quickly in a sunny, sheltered spot.
Plants are grown in peat free compost at our Yorkshire nursery and arrive with well established rootballs, ready to go into their final pot or bed once all risk of frost has passed. Water evenly rather than in fits and starts, since erratic watering causes blossom end rot and split fruit, and begin a high potassium feed once the first fruits start to swell. The fruit is for eating, but the leaves and stems belong to the same family as potato and are a known risk to pets.
