Tomato 'Trilly' – Grafted Mini Plum Tomato (Set of 3 or 6)

Tomato 'Trilly' is a grafted mini plum tomato that carries long trusses of sweet, bite-sized oval fruit from summer into autumn.

The flavour is rich and well balanced, and the small plum shape holds up better in a lunchbox than a round cherry does. Grafting onto a vigorous rootstock gives the plant more vigour, better disease resistance and a heavier crop.

Trilly is an indeterminate cordon reaching 150 to 200cm, so train it up a cane or a string, take out the side shoots as they appear and pick regularly to keep it fruiting. Grow it in full sun in a greenhouse, a polytunnel, a large container or a warm sheltered spot outdoors. Plant it out only once all risk of frost has passed, because tomatoes are killed outright by the first frost and set back badly by cold nights. Water evenly rather than in bursts, since erratic watering is what causes blossom end rot and split fruit, and feed with a high-potash tomato feed once the first truss has set. Supplied as three or six established grafted plants in 1 litre root balls. Tomato foliage is in the same family as potato and is a known risk to pets, so keep animals away from the plants.
