Grape Vine 'Attiki' – Seedless Black Dessert Grape (3L Pot)

'Attiki' is a Greek seedless grape carrying bunches of sweet, dark purple-black fruit from late summer into early autumn.

It is a vigorous deciduous climber, self fertile, so one plant is all you need for a crop. Train it along horizontal wires spaced about 30cm apart on a wall or fence, or over a pergola or arch where the bunches can hang clear. It also grows in a large patio container if the pot is big enough to keep it fed and watered.

The vine itself is fully hardy right across Britain, but hardiness and ripening are two different things: the grapes need a warm, sheltered, sunny spot, ideally against a south or west facing wall, to ripen properly outdoors. Prune every midwinter, from December to January, while the vine is fully dormant, or it bleeds sap. Water through the first season and feed with a high potash fertiliser from spring until the fruit is picked. The leaves colour yellow and orange before they drop.

Supplied as an established vine in a 3 litre pot.
